Finding the Beauty of Fall at Home
Are we so busy chasing seasonal experiences that we're overlooking the beauty we can cultivate in our own homes?
Fall festivities are everywhere, especially here in the North Georgia mountains. It is easy to get caught up in the rush of it all, not wanting to miss out on a single fall experience.
But what if we challenged that thought? How can we foster the beauty of fall within our own homes and homesteads? How can we be intentional about creating a beautiful daily life, filled with the simple gifts of the season?
For those of us who desire a slower life, rich relationships, and meaningful work with our hands, these are questions worth considering. And the answers will look different in every home.
Maybe you enjoy baking with fresh fall spices, making simmer pots in your kitchen (here is my personal recipe), or filling your home with the warmth of beeswax candles, or maybe you prefer essential oils and diffusers. Perhaps you choose locally grown pumpkins, supporting your community while enjoying the beautiful variety of shapes, colors, and textures that come with them.
Maybe it's treating your children to some cotton candy or creamed honey without the artificial flavors and dyes, or wrapping up in a natural wool blanket with a handmade mug of loose-leaf tea. These are simple things meant to be enjoyed slowly, perhaps on a front porch surrounded by the beauty of fall.
These seasonal delights are here for such a short window, so why not choose to slow down and savor them?
Enjoy a fresh pot of tea with your family on a Sunday afternoon after a hike through the woods, or cuddle up with a good book and learn about a new hobby during these cooler fall evenings.
Our seasonal items at the store won't be around forever, either, as we begin making room for unique, beautiful, nontoxic Christmas gifts for the holiday season.
So come visit us, enjoy the seasonal offerings, and find a little something to bring the beauty of fall into your own home.
Until next week,
Ali
