A Simple Fall Simmer Pot Recipe

A Simple Fall Simmer Pot Recipe

One of my favorite ways to bring the scents of fall into our home is with a simple simmer pot. Using a few ingredients we often already have in the kitchen, you can fill your home with the wonderful aromas of cinnamon, cloves, apples, and oranges.

It is a lovely way to make use of fruit scraps while bringing a little seasonal warmth into your home.

Instructions

  1. Add all ingredients to a large pot of filtered water.

  2. Place the pot on the back burner of your stove or on top of a heated wood stove.

  3. Bring to a gentle simmer, allowing the warm, spiced aromas to fill your home.

  4. Add more water throughout the day as needed to keep the lovely scents flowing.

Be sure to keep an eye on the water level, never let the pot boil dry, and turn off the heat when you are away.

Sometimes the simplest things bring the most joy to our homes, and this is one of my favorite ways to enjoy the changing seasons without spending much at all.
